Sure, Astral Plane goes overboard providing for that very special first date, and at points it becomes slightly reminiscent of high school prom. But that's what you're paying for. After all, the dishes, unfortunately, aren't as enticing as the atmosphere, ranging from an over-seared marinated duck breast in predictable sauces like raspberry and curry to the run-of-the-mill apple scented pork chops with an ambiguous cream sauce. The basis for such culinary boredom may be that most new couples will be too nervous to eat in the first place.
